Moses is a flood prediction and alert system designed for cities facing increasingly extreme weather. Drawing on hydrological modeling, it deploys a network of ultrasonic sensors housed in durable, solar-powered casings to monitor rising water levels. Data is transmitted via LoRa to a central server, where GIS-based simulations analyze flood progression in real time. The system predicts short-term developments based on water level changes and topography, delivering tailored push notifications to residents. By merging predictive modeling with real-time alerts, Moses helps communities navigate floods safely and proactively—turning data into lifesaving action.
The Target Problem
Climate change induced natural disasters
45%
increase in Category 4 and 5 hurricanes globally is expected by 2100
30,000
square miles of the United States are at risk of permanent flooding by 2050
13 Million
Could be displaced due to sea level rise by 2100, mostly from the Gulf Coast

Deployment Strategy
Geographic Information Systems (GIS)-based tiered selection methodology
